GR Employment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a Courier Driver based in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and customer-focused individual to join a leading logistics operation. The role is offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate, subject to performance and business requirements.

About the Role

As a Courier Driver, you will be responsible for the daily delivery and collection of parcels from customers across your designated route. This is a key role within the operation, requiring a professional attitude, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.

You will be measured on customer satisfaction and the successful completion of time-definite deliveries and collections. As a frontline representative of the company, you will be expected to carry out all duties with a strong customer-focused approach.

This is a multi-drop delivery role, completing approximately 40 to 60 stops per day, handling primarily small parcels.

You must demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills to effectively prioritise your workload and meet customer expectations. Whilst you will be assigned a specific geographical route, flexibility is essential, as you may occasionally be required to cover alternative routes to support business needs.

You will also be responsible for scanning shipments and working efficiently to ensure operational deadlines are met. The role requires the ability to make sound decisions, work under pressure, and maintain a high level of accuracy throughout the working day.

Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver and collect parcels safely and efficiently.Complete approximately 40 to 60 deliveries and collections per day.Accurately scan and process shipments using handheld devices.Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed within agreed timeframes.Provide excellent customer service at all times.Follow planned delivery routes and schedules.Maintain accurate delivery records and associated paperwork.Ensure the security and safe handling of all shipments.Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.Adhere to all road traffic laws and company procedures.Support operational requirements by covering alternative routes when required.
Driving RequirementsHold a valid Full UK Driving Licence.Be legally entitled to drive in the UK.Have the right to work in the UK.For insurance purposes, applicants must be 21 years of age or over.Have no more than 9 live penalty points on their driving licence.No major motoring convictions.Successfully complete any required driving licence, identity, reference, and background checks.Security Checks
