GR Employment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a Courier Driver based in the Team Valley Trading Estate area of Newcastle.

About the Role

As a Courier Driver, you will be responsible for the daily collection and delivery of shipments to and from customers across your designated route.

As a frontline representative of the business, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed safely, accurately, and on time.

You will be measured on customer satisfaction and the successful completion of time-definite deliveries and collections. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Whilst you will usually operate within an assigned geographical area, flexibility is essential, as you may occasionally be required to support alternative routes to meet operational requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver and collect shipments safely and efficiently.Complete multi-drop delivery and collection routes within agreed timescales.Accurately scan and process shipments using handheld devices.Provide excellent customer service at all times.Follow planned delivery routes and schedules.Ensure shipments are handled securely and with care.Maintain accurate delivery records and associated paperwork.Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly.Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.Support alternative routes and operational requirements when required.Work efficiently to meet operational and customer deadlines.Comply with company procedures, road traffic legislation, and health and safety requirements.What We're Looking ForFull UK Driving Licence.Previous multi-drop delivery or courier experience is preferred; however, applicants with relevant delivery driving experience will also be considered.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Good planning and organisational abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Positive attitude and strong work ethic.Good attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to make sound decisions and work effectively under pressure.Security training will be provided where required.Full training and ongoing support will be provided.Driving RequirementsHold a valid Full UK Driving Licence.Be legally entitled to drive in the UK.Have the right to work in the UK.Due to the client's motor insurance requirements, applicants must meet the insurer's eligibility criteria, which currently include being aged 21 or over.Have no more than 9 live penalty points on their driving licence.Have no unspent major motoring convictions.Successfully complete any required driving licence, identity, reference, and background checks.Physical Requirements

This role may involve:

Frequent vehicle entry and exit throughout the day.Lifting, carrying, and moving parcels.Manual handling activities.Working to strict delivery schedules and deadlines.Security Screening Requirements

Due to the nature of this role, successful applicants may be required to:
